Last week The Narrative Loft transformed into an organic space for a styled wedding shoot that captured the unique beauty of Jane Alexandra Events.
Within each of us is a warrior waiting to be discovered. Power and strength are all in the eye of the beholder; whether it is expressed through yoga, backpacking, marathoning, or music, it is all up to you. 3rdNut helps you honor that power.
Ahhh, that Sunday kind of love. Who doesn't love curling up in the sheets, sleeping in and lounging until lunchtime. But even when you don't have time to spend hours hitting the snooze button, Suissly's designs are sure to leave you feeling well rested on those early mornings. Suissly is brand new startup located in Santa Barbara that designs, manufactures and sells bedding products online right to consumers.
Few have the courage to step outside their comforts and explore the world beyond a nine to five. Or the passion to cultivate the lifestyle they yearn for. The fearlessness to pursue their creativity unreservably and create without worry of the outcome. The grit to turn their dreams into plans. What if we all could live without fear? Not our irrational fear of sharks or spiders but our true fears. The vast. The unknown. The unfamiliar. And lastly without fear of our own potential. When we open our hearts and minds to our limitlessness rather than our limitations, the world opens with opportunity. Moral of the rant. Be bold. Take risks. Shine bright. Like miss Catherine Gee!
As Toad & Co. joins us once again for their regular photoshoot, we wanted to switch it up and highlight a crucial part of their production team. Their make-up artistry master and beauty doctor, Tomiko Taft. She has worked for Toad & Co. on all their studio photography projects, but her skill and expertise expands far beyond catalog shoots. Fashion editorials, the silver screen or the music industry to weddings and personal celebrity clients.

It's no secret.... 240 STUDIO LOVES four-legged furkids. We have a special place in our hearts for smiley, misunderstood, uber huggable canines and welcomed these beautiful Pit Bulls with open arms and delicious treats!
We recently had the pleasure of photographing two insanely talented musicians. Our new friends, John Brancy (Baritone) and Mario Antonio Marra (pianist), were the winners of the MAW’s Marilyn Horne annual song competition 2013 and came to 240 STUDIO to document their amazing accomplishment.
If you caught the The Magic Flute at the Granada Theater in August, then you saw Brancy in all his glory. He was the fantastic Papageno in the Music Academy’s performance of The Magic Flute!
The Santa Barbara Independent raved about the production. “As performed by the fellows of the Music Academy of the West last Friday at the Granada Theatre, the Flute cast its spell and demonstrated that for sheer musical invention, Mozart has never been surpassed.”
We had a great time in the Studio with John and Mario! Both guys were fantastic and fun to work with. We congratulate them on all of their hard work and hope they come back and visit us at 240 STUDIO soon!

Be on the lookout for Ovais Malik, Professional Voice Over Artist who had his headshots taken at 240 STUDIO last week. Ovais specializes in narration and voiceovers; from movie trailers, animations, sound effects, celebrity impersonations (like Sylvester Stallone and Inspector Gadget), … this guy can do it all!
Being able to manipulate speech is a wonder to me considering I, like most people, have stuck with the same voice throughout my life. For Ovais however, his 13-year history as a musician has helped him to master the art of voice-overs. His wide range of accents, impersonations, and characters makes him a particularly creative and unique artist. 240 STUDIO is glad to welcome all types of artists, as we really enjoy learning from them.

Thank you for choosing 240 STUDIO Ovais, we hope to see you again soon!
Until next week~
Your intern extraordinaire,
After a week of waking up at the crack of dawn to coffee and bagels, beeping cameras, and half naked male models (NOT complaining) it is time for 240 STUDIO to part ways with Horny Toad and look forward to another shoot in the future!
Horny Toad makes a majority of their clothing with sustainable fibers and recycled poly, so their clothes have a very comfortable and simple feel. I know what you're thinking- Fashion AND comfort? No way. Too good to be true. I have been long searching for a clothing company that could look and feel good wearing.. Us true fashionistas understand the importance of both. And now I've finally found my source! Seems that hosting Horny Toads' shoot at 240 STUDIO may just end up draining my wallet...
It was great to have such talented photographers capturing the essence of the clothing line, Lee Webb and Nick Savoy. Taking a great shot is one thing, but keeping models chipper through about 4000 frames in five days is a lot of work. Both Lee and Nick did a great job throughout the week and we loved having their good vibes in the studio!
While the models were getting primped and pampered, Lee the photographer made sure to keep himself looking toned as well. As the studio intern, it was a bit intimidating at times to be surrounded by such stunning people, (especially the shirtless studs..) but their warm and engaging personalities made them very comfortable to talk to.
The crew we got to work with from Horny Toad are as unpretentious and fun as their clothing line! They're great people and their passion shines through their personalities and business practices. To find out more, check out their website: www.hornytoad.com
Until next week~
Your intern extraordinaire, Jess.
