The founders of Save the Mermaids, a nonprofit organization that started with an eager group of girls, grew into something bigger than what they could have imagined.
The first stop on this love parade was El Capitan Beach for a striking fall sunset ceremony complete with beautiful ukulele accompaniment by Chris Wooley. As another gorgeous Santa Barbara sun set beyond the horizon, the bunch made their way to our space, The Narrative Loft.
That's a wrap! The second edition of TEDx Santa Barbara Live went off without a hitch. Once a year, the greatest movers and shakers of our time bring their bright ideas to a live audience on the TED stage. The chance to get a seat in that live audience is slim picking. Luckily the production team of TEDx Santa Barbara Live is on a mission to bring that experience to our local community. It was an action-packed two days, with people coming and going during the live simulcast from Vancouver. We are so happy to have been the host location for the second year in a row, another fantastic event in the books. We can't wait for next year!
This summer, local nonprofit C.A.R.E.4Paws invited students K-12 in Santa Barbara County to participate in a Pawsitive Thinking Youth Project. Bright, casual, and classic. The feel of another rehearsal dinner here at the loft. It was a lovely afternoon, with plenty of natural light beaming through the space! Pure Joy Catering brought delicious farm fresh food to the table with plenty of local veggies, yummy home baked breads and a chef manned pasta station. Beware if your hungry, salivation warning!!!
